i have begun a new page titled “Other ACIM Articles”. As time permits I will post copies of articles and booklets I have written in the past. The booklets will be PDF versions of my booklets that have gone out of print.
I am currently writing somewhat abbreviated commentary/notes on the first chapters of the Text of the Complete and Annotated Edition. Links will be interspersed with the Text links on the Text Commentaries page and clearly indicated.
The reason for the new notes is that this most recent edition of the Course has restored most of the material in Helen's notes that was omitted from earlier editions and the original order. The first seven chapters were the most heavily modified, and there is a lot of unfamiliar material. None of it changes the overall message of the Course, but it often clarifies and augments our understanding. I’ve just posted a new commentary on the Preface to the FIP edition of the Course. This is copyrighted material and therefore is not included in the CE edition. My previous commentary on the Preface (written in 2007,also linked on my Text Commentaries page) covered only the “What It Says” section, which is the only one of the three sections that came through inner dictation like the rest of the Course.

At long last, after nearly 27 years (with several years off early on during controversy over the copyright), I have finished commentary on the entire Course in Miracles. Today I posted my commentary on the Epilogue to the Clarification of Terms, the very last chapter in the book.Here’s a link to Download the File. I read this over at the end of our final meeting in May, but maybe we can cover it in more depth some time this Fall.
I’m thinking of holding an introductory workshop at Portland Unity at the end of the summer or early Fall, late August or early September, with a view to drawing in a few more students from the church. With that in mind, I think it would be good to start again at the very beginning of the Text, doing the Introduction and then Chapter One. I realize we started into the Text this year when I was using it as a kind of filler when I was falling behind on my writing, but if there are new students coming it would be good to start over. I’ve not been updating this blog recently; I was just too pressed for time. I’ve finished the six chapters of the Clarification of Terms, all but the Epilogue, which I expect to finish no later than the end of June, 2023. Five of the six commentaries are available for download on the Manual for Teachers page (link in the lefthand list of links). I completed #6 before #5; the latter will be up there in the next week or so. And I will write and post comments on the Epilogue after that.
I’ve posted my commentaries on the first two chapters of the Clarification of Terms. We studied Chapter 1 a few weeks ago, then took a break to watch the video on the story of ACIM and to begin casual discussion of Chapter 1 of the Text. Here’s a link to Chapter 2, Download File.
I should mention for anyone not familiar with the Circle of Atonement’s “Complete and Annotated Edition” (CE) of the Course that the first five chapters of the Text, especially Chapter 1, are very different from the edition published by The Foundation for Inner Peace (the blue books). The CE contains over 50,000 words omitted from the FIP version, and the first chapter has been restored to its original order and format. Also, in the Clarification that we’re studying now, FIP’s chapter 2 has been moved to its original position in Helen’s notes as Chapter 6, and the intervening chapters renumbered from 2 to 5 to become 3 to 6 in the CE. I’m using the CE numbering. I’ve posted the commentaries on the final chapter of the Manual, #29, and the Introduction to the Clarification of Terms. We’ll study C-In in the study group tomorrow, 02/28/2023.

This coming Tuesday, 02/14/2023, we will finish up studying the Text chapter I began with you last week, and proceed on to Manual Ch. 28 if time permits. The commentary on that Text chapter can be found here: Download File for this commentary on T-11.VI (FIP). I have uploaded a PDF version of a booklet I wrote in 1996 on the topic of “What Is Death?”. It covers the whole topic of death as it is discussed all through the Course, not just in the Manual.
