I've posted a minor update to my commentary on Manual 24, correcting the title. The prior posting had the title "Introduction," which I neglected to modify from the template I use.
If you downloaded it before 12/31 at 3PM, you might want to download a corrected copy. Nothing is changed but the title. New commentary posted on Chapter 23, "Does Jesus Have a Special Place in Healing?" This is a really good section!
Download File I am sorry for the long time between posts! I've been very busy. Here, finally, is the commentary on Manual chapters 21 and 22.
Download File Some of you many not have heard that Alan Minor, a strong companion on the journey home and a dear friend, passed away on October 1. I will miss his wandering but deep comments during the study group meetings, and the lunches I sometimes shared with him. If you did not receive the email I sent out with his obit and info on the celebration of life service at Unity on Nov 27, drop me an email and I'll pass it along. I discovered an error in the commentary for Lesson 251. It was showing as Lesson 250! And there was no way to get 251.
I have fixed the error. The index page now properly links to #251, and #251' "pref" and "next" links work correctly. I'm sorry to report that, due to some personal demands on my time, such as a much-delayed return visit to Sedona and cataract surgery on both eyes, I have decided to delay the restart of my study group in Portland and on Zoom until November 1.
I've posted a new commentary on the Manual for Teachers, Chapter 20: "What Is the Peace of God?"
EXCITING NEWS! The Circle of Atonement's app for iOS and (I think) Android phones is out for beta testing. I've been using it for several days and have not encountered any bugs so far, although some planned features have not yet been implemented. If you are interested in trying out the app (the whole CE version is there for reading and searching), you can follow the link below to make a $ donation to support the continued development of the app. It's my understanding that the beta test version will be offered to everyone who donates. https://circleofa.networkforgood.com/projects/117341-a-course-in-miracles-ce-mobile-app I've uploaded a new commentary on Chapters 18 & 19, "How is Correction Made?" and "What is Justice?"
Having a good summer so far. Not much time for writing up till now. I managed to complete these two chapters so that's good. We've taken our first camping trip in 3 years to eastern Oregon for five days in our A-Liner. It was good getting back out, but we had a lot of work to do making things ready after such a long time since our last trip, which was before we moved! We have another trip planned mid-August to a campground on the Oregon coast, near Newport. Others at Unity of Portland are experimenting with hybrid classes, in person and on Zoom, so I think we'll have the kinks worked out by the fall when we resume meetings. I've posted the commentary on Manual for Teachers, Chapter 17: "How Do God’s Teachers Deal with Their Pupils’ Thoughts of Magic?" We will study this tomorrow, Tuesday, May 31, 2022.
This will be our final meeting before the summer break, June thru August. Meetings will resume the Tuesday after Labor Day (first Tuesday in September). I intend for meetings from September onward to be hybrid meetings, that is, in person at Unity of Portland as before, plus on Zoom for remote students. I have posted a commentary for Chapter 16 of the Manual for Teachers, "How Should the Teacher of God Spend His Day?"
Next Tuesday, May 24, 2022, we will study this section, probably with some reference also to the appendices sent with the commentary on chapters 14 & 15, "The Process of Changing Thoughts" and "Review I Introduction." Our final meeting before summer break will be on May 31. Here is a direct link to download the new commentary. Download File |
