Workshops page; Notes for T-9.VII have been posted.

I have created a new page, "Workshops available," that will become the root page for a new section of this website that will describe the various workshops I am available to present. My first effort will be to present workshops in Unity churches around the Northwest region. A link to the new page appears as the second button in the left sidebar.

I have posted the commentary for T-9.VII, "The Two Evaluations," which we will study when we meet on May 8. See April 6 post for the rest of the spring schedule.

Updates to T-9.I (8-14) have been posted; T-9.III posted later today.

Those who attended the last meeting will recall that the printed notes for T-9.I (8-14) were incomplete, in that the text of paragraphs 10 to 14 had not been updated with Urtext material, and the Answer Key was unnumbered. I have made those corrections and have posted the corrected versions for downloading or online viewing.

I am currently working on the notes for T-9.III, "The Correction of Error," and will post them by the end of the day.

Remember! On Tuesday March 20, there is going to be a Oneness Blessing event on the main floor of the church from 11 AM to 2:30 PM (actually two consecutive events) which will require ticketed entry, although the tickets are free. I think the idea is to limit the number of attendees; they expect to pack the place. Therefore, if you are planning to attend the study group that day, you must arrive early, no later than 10:15 and you should enter via the back door. Come in and go directly downstairs.

If any of you are interested in attending the Oneness Blessing, there is one that begins at 1PM and goes to 2:30 PM. You can find more information about it here: http://www.onenessoregon.org/oneness_meditation.

Notes for T-9.II, "The Answer to Prayer," have been posted.

I have posted the Notes for T-9.II, "The Answer to Prayer." In addition, I need to update the meeting place situation. In sum, we are staying in the downstairs location. We tried it out this morning but ran into a conflict with the set-up time for the 1 PM class that follows us; we were asked to move back downstairs after the break at 11:30. So we've decided to stay in the downstairs room.

New meeting location March 6 and 13; travel plans.

This coming Tuesday, March 6, our group will meet in the Chapel at Unity Church, which is on the main floor, near the back entrance to the church. This is an experiment to see if we prefer this location to the teen room downstairs, since our group has grown so much. Our breaks will still have to be downstairs, however, since refreshments are not allowed on the main floor.

The study topic on March 6 will be to finish the last few paragraphs of Chapter 8 and to cover all of Section I of Chapter 9. We are also going to take a few photos for the brochure I am putting together offering ACIM workshops to the northwest region of Unity and CSL churches.

We will meet in the chapel on the 6th and the 13th. The following week, the 21st, we'll have to be back downstairs because large group is renting the whole upstairs.

Peggy and I are celebrating the end of her career at Providence Medical Center (on March 22) the following week with a vacation at the Oregon Coast. I will be gone on Tuesday the 27th, relaxing and walking on the beach with Peggy and our dogs.

Notes for T-8.IX, "Healing as Corrected Perception," have been posted.

I have posted the commentary for T-8.IX, "Healing as Corrected Perception." This coming Tuesday, Feb. 28, we will finish the final paragraphs of T-8.VIII, and then study T-8.IX.

Notes for T-8.VIII, "The Body as Means or End," have been posted.

I have posted the commentary for T-8.VIII, "The Body as Means or End." This coming Tuesday, Feb. 14, we will study the second half of T-8.VII; Section VIII will be the subject of the following week's meeting, on Feb. 21.

Pathwork lecture on "The Spiritual Significance of Human Relationship."

In the commentary on T-8.III, I refer to the teaching of the spiritual path known as "The Pathwork" about human relationships. If you click on the "Extras" link to the left you will see I've added a link to a sample article from the Pathwork website, which can be found here.

Note about Text Downloads pages.

The page for downloads for Chapter 8 has been set up with all the links in advance, although so far only Section I's files have been uploaded. Clicking on the link for a file I have not uploaded will bring up a custom "Error 404: Missing file" page that will tell you the file isn't up yet. It was easier just to create the entire page all at once than to keep coming back every week to add another link.

Thursday evening study group cancelled.

After prayerful consideration, I have discontinued the Thursday evening study group. The Tuesday morning study group, from now on, will be the only ACIM group meeting at Unity of Portland.

Changes in formatting.

I have been experimenting with the formatting in the Text paragraphs quoted in the commentary, using a pink highlight to indicate words that had been emphasized in all caps in the Urtext. I have decided that the highlighting was distracting, and made reading more difficult. I've changed the formatting in the commentaries for T-7.III, 7.IV, and 7.V to use bold text instead of highlighted text. I think you will find this more readable; please let me know any feedback. I plan to continue using bold for future commentaries. I've also added a "Legend" at the start of each commentary to explain the different kinds of formatting I use in the Text paragraphs. This is the legend:

Legend for Text paragraphs:
blue text = Material from ACIM 3rd edition (FIP)
bold blue text= words emphasized in all caps in Urtext
red text = alternate or omitted material from the Urtext
light blue text = editorial comments
strikethrough blue text = Not in Urtext, in FIP edition
