Or should I say, "re-Zooms on September 8"? 😁
It looks as though we are in for continuing social distancing for the foreseeable future, at least until early next year. The medical authorities say that the earliest we can expect a vaccine for COVID-19 is January 2021, and deploying it to most of the population will take a fair amount of time after that. And that's the optimistic estimate. So I am planning on holding the study group virtually, on Zoom, until it is safe again to gather in person. Suppose I can find a good way to do it, even after in-person meetings are possible. In that case, I'd like to continue to offer the study group online to people who cannot attend in person. In that September 8 meeting, we will pick up where we left off, beginning with the Text Chapter 28, Section III, "The Feast of Plenty." (That's "The Agreement to Join" in the FIP edition.) In June, we covered the first 3 paragraphs of this section, but after a 2-month hiatus, I plan to start with Paragraph 1 again. I've had a good summer so far, and am writing commentary now on Section VI of Chapter 28. I should complete the chapter this month and begin editing the commentaries on Chapters 29, 30, and 31 that I wrote back in 2006 and 2007. Because those were written using the FIP edition, I need to add references based on the Complete and Annotated Edition (CE) we are now using. That takes a lot of time. There are also some differences in the wording of the Text (based on the editor's study of the original shorthand notes). I'll revise my comments accordingly. I'm looking forward to seeing all of you again! This evening I expect to receive a new webcam that should offer improved video from my end. I'm excited by what it will enable me to do. Blessings, Allen
